Vimeo Video Sharing

Because of sites like Flickr photosharing has become not only very poplular but very easy. But until Flickr develops something to share your videos, there's Vimeo. Surprisingly the creators of College Humor, Busted Tees and AllDumb have developed something you can actually benifit from. A site that's similar to other video sharing sites like YouTube, but there are some features that Vimeo has that others don't. Vimeo is very well integrated with your flickr account and you don't have that little logo embedded on your video like YouTube does. And while overall I like Vimeo better than YouTube, it's major downfall is that they only allow you 20MB per week.

Electric Heat

From the moment I saw the work of Nigel Dennis' at Electric Heat it has been an inspiration to me. His work stands above many and he is regarded as one of my favorite designers. From Foot Locker to Absolute to XLR8R Dennis has brought his flavor to all different kinds of clients. He has a style that's unique and easily recognized, I love it.

Momo & :Phunk Studio

Protein has recently opened their store offering all sorts of goodies, one of which is the premier copy of Momo. The book features Singapore's one and only :Phunk Studio that was also recently featured on the cover of Computer Arts Magazine. The book covers :Phunk's decade long rise to the top from when they established to the studio in 1994 to doing work for such clients as Deisel, Nike, MTV and 2K T-shirts. Oh ya, and it has a thong-clad Brazillian model on the cover, very nice.

DLO HomeDock

These days there are so many little doodads for the iPod. Companies slap the word iPod on just about any product just to mark up the price 30%. I wouldn't be surprised if someone somehow incorporated the iPod with a coffeemaker. Due to this I find it hard to excited over many of the products that come out for the iPod. Although, when I saw the DLO HomeDock I thought it was pretty cool. The HomeDock allows you to play video and slideshows on your TV, play music through your home stereo, syncs with your computer, charges your iPod and comes with a remote.

The Red - Burn

The folks over at Modern Poverty bring you all kinds of cool stuff, from your bathroom to your office they will keep it stylin'. Something that caught my in in particular is The Red's new album "Burn". What makes it so cool? They released it on a USB flash drive. Simply plug the drive into your USB port and download the files to your computer. The drive contains their full length album, burn, liner notes, printable album cover & more. After downloading the files to your hard drive you can then erase them from the flash drive and use it for transporting any other files you want. Pretty cool idea.

SoulseeX, Apple Users Get More Soul

Like much new software, Soulseek client options for Apple users has been fairly limited. Being and Apple user myself I have tried several options for using Soulseek, but I recently came across one of the best yet - SoulseeX. Compared to other Soulseek clients for Apple SoulseeX is a very stable application and has many options that other don't have. It could use a make-over on the user interface, but for now I would say this is the best option for us Mac users.

Jimmy Eat World & Styrofoam, Who Would Have Thought?

When first hearing about the collaboration between Jimmy Eat World and indietronica king Styrofoam my jaw dropped. These two names where the last I would have expected to ever see together. On the reletively new EP of Jimmy Eat World's, "Stay On My Side Tonight", Styrofoam remixes their single "Drugs Or Me". Remixes are always welcome in my library, and this one has quickly made it to one of my most listened tracks.

Wallpaper is no longer for your grandma, thanks to the folks over at Maxalot. They have collaborated with a bunch of the best designers, photographers and illustrators out there to come up with a series of wallpapers called Exposif. I have always thought this would be a great idea, these make me want to purchase a home just so I can customize every wall in it.

Urb Magazine's Best of '05

2005 was a big year in music. Genres were created, stars were made and Britney Spears had a baby. In the ever-growing music scene it's hard to keep up on what's going on. I turn to many sources to keep up on music, one of my favorites is URB Magazine, and they just released their Best of '05 issue. The cover features none other than Bloc Party's Kele Okereke and the genre-bending M.I.A.. So if you were stuck under a rock for the past year, and need to catch up on what happened this year in music, this issue is a must have.

Vice Magazine's DO's and DON'Ts

I love Vice Magazine's DO's and DON'Ts, they are always good for a laugh or a pick-me-up when you thought you had fashion issues. But what's even funnier is that they took it beyond the section on the site, in their mag and full length book. They actually went as far as to make a four piece vinyl toy set of DO's and DON'Ts characters. The collection includes Craig - a meat-headed tool complete with extreme-wraparound sunglasses and flaming ankle tattoo, and Becky - a fake-breasted blonde-haired bimbo with her thong hanging out of her pants. They may be a bit pretentous, but pretty damn funny.
