Sasquatch Music Festival: May 26-27

Honestly, what could be better than a road trip with your friends to go see some of the most amazing bands and artists in the world at a beautiful outdoor music festival? I really couldn't think of many better ways to spend a weekend. If you agree with me you may want to consider getting some freinds together and heading to the Sasquatch Music Festival at the Gorge in George, Washington. The line-up for the 2 day festival is amazing, including Bjork, the Beastie Boys, M.I.A., Interpol, Grizzly Bear, Aquaduct, Electralane and a lot more. With a line-up like that and cheap tickets, starting at only $55, this should be a no-brainer for anyone living remotely close to Washington.

Thanks for the heads-up on this one Steph.

SellaBand

Are you in a band that has wanted to produce an album, but you just don't quite have the means to get it done? Well, if you think you're good enough you may want to check out SellaBand, and website designed to get independant artists and bands enough money to get the music produced. Here's how it works: bands and artists upload their profiles and music fans or as they call them "believers" find artists they really like. Believers then are able to support the bands they like buy investing $10 towards the production of their album, when the artist or band reaches $50,000 (5,000 investors) the money goes towards the production of their album, and the investors receive one of the albums. Have a hard time believing something like this works? A band by the name of Nemesea just raised 50,000 big ones in just 3 months, crazy shit.

Slackin' in the '07

It has been over a month since my last post, there is really no excuse for the slacking. However, if I were to attempt to make some sort of an excuse you could choose from one of the following: I was living in China were the internet got completely jacked because of a large earthquake in Taiwan, I had to suddenly move back to the States because of the internet and work, I now have no place to live and I am camping out on a mattress on a friend's floor, I am slammed with make-up work that I was unable to do in China, I am trying to get everything done so I can go back to China. Regardless of the excuse, I have a bunch of cool-ass stuff that has been sitting in my bookmarks and inbox just waiting to share, so hopefully there are at least a few readers who have stuck with me through this slow time, stay tuned!
